Colleyville is the fourth largest of the six communities with a 2006 population of, or 21,700, or 16 percent of this six community market.

Between Jan. 2003 and Dec. 2005, Colleyville permitted $48 million worth of new commercial space. Of the 46 new buildings permitted, 30 were for office use.

Colleyville made Money Magazines’s August 2005 list of the 100 Best Towns in America.

2005 median household income of $124,675

In 2005, the average new residential building permit was $462,775, excluding land

Over 50 restaurants operate in Colleyville.

Residents are served by one of four different school districts: Grapevine-Colleyville, Birdville, HEB or Keller.

Spotlight on Southlake

Southlake is the third largest of the six communities with a 2006 Population of 25,350, or 18.5 percent of this market.

According to the 2000 Census:

  1. Residents are young, with only 4.2 percent aged 62 or older as of 2000.
  2. Residents aged 25 years and older are well educated as 59.2 percent hold a bachelors degree or higher.
  3. Families dominate as 94.1 percent of all households are family households.
  4. As of 2000, 86.8 percent of all housing units had been built since 1980.
  5. Over 91 percent (91.7 %) of residents speak English only at home.

The four largest employers within Southlake: Sabre Holdings, Tri-Dal Ltd., Verizon Wireless and City of Southlake. (Carroll ISD’s main office is located in Grapevine and thus is not included.)

Between 2001 and 2006, the total appraised value of real estate in Southlake grew at an average annual rate of 7.8 percent. (Source: TAD)

According to the 2000 Census:

  1. Residents are young, with only 5.5 percent aged 62 or older.
  2. Residents are well-educated with 44.6 percent of all residents aged 25 or older holding a bachelors degree or higher.
  3. Families dominate as 89.1 percent of all households are family households.
  4. As of 2000, 79.2 percent of all housing units had been built since 1980.
  5. Over ninety-three (93.1) percent speak English only at home.
