For the five cities in the greater Southlake marketplace with over one thousand residents, Grapevine experienced the greater increase of 3.6 percent, or 1,650 new residents.  Keller had the second highest growth rate at 1.9 percent, for an increase of 700 residents.  Overall, the five cities grew by 3,150 residents, or 2.3 percent from 138,500 in January 2007 to 141,650 on January 1, 2008.

Southlake is the third largest of the six communities with a 2006 Population of 25,350, or 18.5 percent of this market.

According to the 2000 Census:

1. Residents are young, with only 4.2 percent aged 62 or older as of 2000.
2. Residents aged 25 years and older are well educated as 59.2 percent hold a bachelors degree or higher.
3. Families dominate as 94.1 percent of all households are family households.
4. As of 2000, 86.8 percent of all housing units had been built since 1980.
5. Over 91 percent (91.7 %) of residents speak English only at home.

1. Residents are fairly young, with only 6.2 percent aged 62 or older as of 2000.
2. Residents are well-educated with 43.2 percent of all residents aged 25 plus holding a bachelors degree or higher.
3. Families dominate as 72.4 percent of all households are family households.
4. As of 2000, 73.3 percent of all housing units had been built since 1980
5. Eighty-five and half (85.5) percent speak English only at home.
